SPPU Students Protest Demand for Grace Marks & Combine Passing, Date Here

PUNE: The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) summer exams are now started. The semester exam 2022 is underway from June 20th. The examination is held in an offline descriptive pattern. Last Month the Pune University administration rejected the students’ offline MCQ exam demand. Now students will protest for Grace Marks and the Combine Passing feature in varsity.

SPPU Students Protest: Most universities in Maharashtra are conducting the exam in offline MCQ mode. But in Pune University, pen and paper exams are being conducted in a traditional way. Students pass the summer exam without any future trouble, So students decided to do the protest demanding Combine Passing, Grace Marks in every subject and ATKT Re-exam should be conducted within one month. The Date of Protest is July 5th.

Earlier last month, Students protested in the varsity demand for the exam should be conducted in an offline MCQ pattern. SPPU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Sanjeev Sonawane reacted to this. Said, “It is our responsibility to give the question bank to the students. It is our job to announce the result in time. But we cannot change the decision regarding the offline exam.”

Due to the Covid exam held in Online mode for last 2 years. The lectures & Preparations also be conducted in Online mode from sppu affiliated colleges. Now this year there are going to be huge differences in points of students.

Now students can protest for the offline MCQ exam on 5th June in the university. It has to be seen whether the university official and administration will accept this demand or not. Grace marks should be provided in students’ scores. So that the future courses of the students will not the hampered. Also, consideration of combined passing for this semester is also beneficial for students.

The Maharashtra Higher Education department is also issued a GR to conduct exams in uniformity pattern. The official GR from higher education said the exam in Maharashtra should be conducted in a uniform pattern is MCQ or descriptive exam. All university in Maharashtra takes exams offline in MCQ Pattern. The act of universities is expected to make decisions in with the University Act in terms of uniformity in examinations. In this, the Vice-Chancellor of all the universities has been asked to discuss and find a solution so that there is uniformity in the exam. For that Pune University has been leading the cooperation with the other university.
